Welcome to our Survey

In the absence of a national approach to ADULT bereavement care in Ireland, the Irish Hospice Foundation facilitated a national collaborative process to develop a framework for adult bereavement care in Ireland.

This framework places bereaved people’s NEEDS at the centre and sets out to clarify the appropriate SUPPORTS/SERVICES and KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS required to meet basic through to complex bereavement needs.

This tiered framework has been developed to guide those working with and supporting bereaved people in Ireland.

It aims to help those who meet people who are bereaved in their day-to-day work (e.g. General Practitioners, Citizen Information Service etc.) and those who provide direct bereavement support (ranging from information, group or individual support, counselling to mental health professionals) to identify and respond appropriately to adults who have experienced a loss.

Please review our FRAMEWORK and FRAMEWORK GUIDE prior to completing this survey. The FRAMEWORK and accompanying GUIDE can be found on the Irish Hospice Foundation website: https://hospicefoundation.ie

Thank you for participating in our survey, your feedback will really help in developing this framework.

If you have any questions about this process please do not hesitate to contact Amanda at amanda.roberts@hospicefoundation.ie
