Since late 2021, the Office for Public Art (OPA) and the City of Pittsburgh's Public History, Art, and Design Division (PHAD) have been collaborating to develop a framework for how the organizations will collaborate to better support artists and communities engaged in public art in the Pittsburgh region. An initial survey of the region's artists was released in January 2022. The responses to that survey, focus groups, and individual interviews formed the basis for the recommendations of the draft Framework.
