Tourism Improvement District Proposed Legislation

PRLA is exploring enabling legislation that would allow county governments, the lodging community, and destination marketing organizations (DMOs) to work together to provide more funding for tourism promotion by establishing a Tourism Improvement District. To be clear, this is not legislation that would be mandated by the state. Funds would be used to further tourism promotion efforts locally, which would drive visitors and therefore tax dollars.
