Learning objectives:

After participating in this session, participants will be able to:
  1. Recognize and analyze microaggressions and power dynamics during complex intraoperative interactions and propose context-sensitive communication strategies to support colleagues and promote psychological safety in the OR.
  2. Analyze the impact of microaggressions and intersectional dynamics in operating room interactions, and develop communication approaches that mitigate harm and promote psychological safety for all team members.
  3. Apply practical allyship strategies, including reframing techniques and real-time interventions, to foster more inclusive, respectful, and equitable team communication within high-stakes clinical environments.
