Maine Tastemakers Request for Proposals

The Maine Tastemakers Initiative helps food and beverage companies grow by offering financial resources, market analysis, tailored consulting and investor networking opportunities.  

Please respond by Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 5pm.  Companies that are receiving Tastemakers Initiative awards will be notified by January 15, 2020.  Projects will be implemented through July 2020.



Tastemakers Initiative Development Resources will be awarded to three to five companies.

> Up to $15,000 per company for consulting to pursue a strategic growth opportunity

> Up to $5,000 per company to coordinate supply chain planning with Maine producers

> 30 Hours of organizational development & workforce attraction and retention consulting

>  Up to $8,000 per company for facility design, engineering, and permitting

> Opportunity to showcase your products in Boston at Maine Tastemakers Showcase in Spring 2020


Participating companies will be selected through a competitive application process.  All proposals will remain confidential. 

Preference will be given to projects submitted by a partnership of multiple Maine companies that work together as a supply chain.  Development awards will be finalized during a project scoping meeting between the Tastemakers project team and applicants. 

Companies and projects selected for awards will:
+ Tie requested Tastemakers resources directly to a projected job creation plan
+Develop a compelling product with a strong value proposition
+Advance an established business plan
+Be led by a proven leadership team
+Pursue ambitious long-term growth goals
+Rooted in a Maine-based supply chain
