East West Rail in Little Shelford survey 2026

1.East West Rail is proposing to permanently close the railway crossing in Hauxton Road, Little Shelford because an additional five trains an hour will be travelling through the village crossing.
2.East West Rail has previously proposed installing a pedestrian footbridge when the railway crossing is permanently closed the railway crossing in Hauxton Road, Little Shelford.
3.A new road is proposed connecting Little Shelford and Hauxton. It would run from Hauxton Road (on the other side of the railway tracks) to Newton Road in Little Shelford. What do you think about the type of junction of the proposed road with Newton Road?
4.The closure of the Hauxton Road railway crossing is likely to mean more cars using Newton Road in Little Shelford. This could mean that the priorities for the junction of Newton Road and Hauxton Road should change, with traffic from Newton Road being able to turn right at the junction with Hauxton Road without giving way as they do at present.

The survey is independent of East West Rail itself as well as Little Shelford Parish Council. However, the results will be shared with both parties to help shape and influence any final decisions.

The deadline for survey responses is January 16th.

The results will be published on the Little Shelford Online website on February 2.
