New Mexico School Nurses Association- Legislation

New Mexico School Nurse Association-National Board Certified School Nurse (NBCSN) Legislation Survey

Hello,
I am Joshua Landry MSN, RN, NCSN Legislative Chair with the New Mexico School Nurses Association. NMSNA is pursuing legislation at the state level to provide National Board Certified School Nurses with the same annual stipend that all nationally board certified school teachers in New Mexico receive. We are performing this survey to find out what the current district level of recognition, compensation, and/or reimbursement is across New Mexico. Please be aware this is not the New Mexico School Nurse Work Force Study that will be conducted later this year. Thank you for your participation in this brief survey.
1.What school district do you work in?
2.Does your school district provide any financial support for you to prepare for or take the NBCSN test?
3.If you have a National Certified School Nurse (NCSN) certification, does your school district provide a yearly financial stipend/bonus?
4.When you achieve the National Certified School Nurse (NCSN), does your school district recognize you as a level 3 school nurse on the New Mexico Public Education licensure level system for pay?
5.Professional School Nurse Pay: Are you salary or hourly?
6.Salary Pay: If you are a salary employee. Does your school district have you on the 3 tiered New Mexico School Teacher salary schedule (e.g. : Level one $50k, Level two $60K, Level three $70k base pay) or at least a financially equal 3 tiered salary schedule?
