Dear Community Members,

The Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD), in an effort to continually protect and serve its customers, is conducting a local effort to update its Hazard Mitigation Plan. This plan identifies natural hazards throughout the Santa Clara County and assesses the vulnerability of critical infrastructure and facilities to these hazards.  Your feedback will aid the district in planning potential actions to reduce risk and future damage.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires that public agencies have a plan to mitigate natural hazard impact on its daily operations. Every five years we are required to update the plan, which we are doing for 2016.  For the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) its core operations provide the following services/products to the public: Clean and reliable supply of water; protection from flooding; and environmental stewardship. Your participation in this survey can make the region more resilient to disasters. Your responses to this survey will inform the plan preparation and related activities that the district currently funds with the goal to mitigate adverse impact on its operations by natural hazards.
