All volunteers must be registered. To do so, please fill out this survey that includes event information and waiver release. If there is more than one person over the legal age of 18 in your household that plans to come, please have them fill out a separate survey.

4.GENERAL WAIVER FOR ADULT PARTICIPANT (18 YEARS AND OVER):  
By participating in your chosen event(s), you acknowledge that:
  • There is a potential risk of injury for which the South Simcoe Streams Network (SSSN), Nottawasaga Futures, its partners and the landowner assume no liability.
  • Health and Safety protocols are in place; however, organizers assume no liability for personal wellness.

9.VOLUNTEER  PREPARATION & SAFETY TIPS FOR EVENT: 
These are in-stream events and participants must be comfortable working in the water and walking on uneven surfaces. This work is moderately physically demanding involving some hiking, lifting, and hammering. Events run from 9am to noon, starting with orientation and demo. Please arrive at the site ten minutes early, if possible. On the day of the event if you are experiencing cold or COVID-like symptoms please stay home in consideration of other volunteers. Events suited for ages 14+ only.
The event will be cancelled or postponed if there is severe weather.

List of things to bring:
  • Water bottle, snack
  • Sunscreen, hat, bug repellant
  • Close toed shoes
  • Backpack or bag is recommended since we will be doing a short hike to the site
  • Work gloves (extras available)
  • A change of socks and clothes (in case you fall in or your waders leak)
  • Chest waders (if you have your own, waders will be provided)
  • A friend or family member: it’s more fun together!
  • Students: Remember to bring your community service volunteer form!

10.STUDENT COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: 
SSSN Events are approved for students seeking community service hours.  When bringing the form, the student’s full name, school, date, and volunteer activity (i.e., Stream Restoration) should already be filled out.  Once filled out, send it to silvia@nottawasga.com or bring it to the event to be signed.
