This survey is open to all Allied Health Professionals employed within the Tasmanian Public Service (for the purposes of this survey, Allied Health Professionals includes positions outlined in the Allied Health Professionals Agreement 2022).

You do not need to be a HACSU member to do this survey.

The data collected will be used to help craft your log of claims for enterprise bargaining this year. This is to determine your new agreement which will outline your wages and employment conditions for the following three years.

* 19. In preparation for putting our log of claims together for bargaining, please rank your priorities for this bargain, 1 being most important to you, 13 being least important

Remuneration and financial incentives: including pay equity with other states/sectors, appropriate appointment salaries, adding additional pay points within a Level, retainment and recruitment incentives, sole practitioner allowance, private practitioner allowance to offset the disparity between public and private sector salaries.

Leave: one additional week of annual leave for all staff, LSL accessed at 7 years, LSL to have super and usual shift penalties paid on it, miscarriage leave, reproductive leave, % pay out on unused sick leave on retirement.

Workplace safety: physical and psychosocial i.e. 10 hr fatigue break post call out, significant incident/trauma leave, wellbeing leave. Personal protective equipment (PPE) allowance, paid when required to wear an N95 mask for more than 70% of a shift.

Workload pressures/staff shortages: backfill for vacancies and leave, additional staff to meet demand, a functioning workload management clause.

Workplace flexibility: 4 day work week with no loss of pay, ADO entitlement, FLEX entitlement

Weekend, on-call, shift-work: 5 additional Annual Leave days when 10 weekend days worked, on-call availability or call backs occur in 12month period. Excess on-call leave- as per nurses, public holiday on call- accrued leave, increase to on-call allowance for public holidays, sole specialised modality allowance including for on-call.

Rural worker allowances/incentives

Outsourced AHPs to be brought in house i.e. education, mental health, pathology, imaging - stop using public money for private profits.

Career advancement/pathways/classifications: removal of barrier at Level 1 to Level 2, Level 2 to 3 personal progression to be available to any Level 2 (regardless of pay point/year) provided they meet the criteria, introduce personal progression Level 3 to Level 4. Introduction of Research and Education pathways/classification. Educator positions appointed at Level 4.

Reward and recognition for additional qualifications: i.e. increase a Level or 2 pay points whichever is higher. Full Scholarships for specialisations, providing worker remains within the service for 12 months after completion. Cannulation allowance of $1000 per annum.

Professional and clinical supervision access for all staff: i.e. when the employer is unable to provide appropriate supervision, they will pay for appropriate external supervision.

Governance: provision of AHP discipline specific line management or advocate for those AHPs who don’t report to the same discipline.

Professional development: i.e. amount of money- equal to Doctors and Dentists, access to funds and time to attend, including overtime or TOIL for travel and attendance out of work hours and fatigue management days pre-post out of work hours courses.
