Navajo Nation Scholarship
Brown and Caldwell offers a scholarship designed to encourage and support students who are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation that have a desire to improve our world by developing their skills and knowledge in preparation for a career in the environmental profession.

The scholarship provides:
  • $1,000 for up to four (4) years of schooling (for a total of $4,000). The scholarship will be distributed annually as long as the eligibility criteria continue to be met.
  • A laptop computer or tablet. (Awarded first year only)

Criteria

Candidates for the Brown and Caldwell Navajo Nation Scholarship Program must be:
  • A United States citizen or permanent resident.
  • A full-time student enrolled at an accredited two-year junior or four-year undergraduate college, or a senior in high school with a letter of acceptance from the college or university to be attended.
  • Have or intend to declare a major in civil, chemical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology).
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on a 5.0 scale).
  • Be an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.

Required Documents
All candidates must submit with a completed application:
  • An essay of 500 words or less, "My role in creating a sustainable world."
  • Two written recommendations, with at least one from a high school or university official (e.g. adviser, professor).
  • High school counselor or university academic adviser's name, phone number, and email address.
  • An official transcript of your academic record.
  • A resume (including previous work experience).
