A Chatham County Affordable & Workforce Housing Initiative Survey

Housing in Chatham County has become increasingly difficult for the community’s workforce and citizens to afford, especially those with annual incomes below $75,000. Just over 40,000 (36%) of Chatham households cannot afford quality housing. This challenge can negatively impact employees, employers, and the community as a whole.

The Savannah Economic Development Authority (SEDA), Chatham County Government, and the City of Savannah have joined forces to support the non-profit Community Housing Services Agency, Inc. (CHSA) in developing the countywide affordable and workforce Housing United initiative. As part of its role in this process, CHSA is seeking input from employers and others regarding their knowledge, concerns, and thoughts on affordable housing for their employees and the community.
