Y-Valve Education Pilot Program - Marina and Yacht Club Participation Form

The Y-Valve Education Pilot Program is designed to educate boat owners about vessel sewage systems and best practices for managing blackwater.
As a participating marina or yacht club, we’ll provide you with all the resources you need to educate your tenants and also check for vessel system leaks and Y-valve closures during routine inspections that occur upon lease initiation, renewal, or other times determined by the marina or yacht club.

3.We agree to include information about the No Discharge Zone; securing your Y-valves and using dye tabs to check for leaks and Y-Valve closures during inspections in our tenant lease agreements. (Suggested sample lease language will be provided for you to consider)


4.We agree to include information about the program in at least one tenant communication channel (i.e. website, social media, newsletter, outreach materials) during the Pilot timeframe.
5.Describe the outreach channels to be used ( i.e. website, social media, newsletter, outreach materials)
6.We agree to educate our staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about the Y-Valve Education Pilot Program and the No Discharge Zone.
7.We agree to prominently display the Y-Valve Education Pilot Program signage provided by the Program at our marina for the duration of the pilot.
8.We agree to document the total number of boats inspected, number of Y-valves found open, and the number of sewage discharges identified, if any during the Pilot timeframe. NOTE: We are not tracking individual boaters with this program. We are using it as a way to share information. The data collected will help us to evaluate the pilot. 
9.We agree to educate tenants about the No Discharge Zone and share educational resources provided about the program.
