State Technical Assessment Team (STAT) Application Instructions
The goal of the State Technical Assistance Team (STAT) Program is to help injury and violence prevention (IVP) programs better understand and improve their organizational efforts within the IVP Core Components.
STAT Overview
The STAT process brings a team of IVP experts together to meet both virtually and in person to plan and prepare a visit with an IVP program to assess where they are in either a specific core component or within all the core components and produce a written report with recommendations for strengthening and improving structures and processes.

Safe States is currently soliciting applications for Team Members to participate in the 2026 STAT process. Candidates from state health departments, local health departments, hospital programs, and injury control research centers are welcome to apply. This year's assessment will be for Arapahoe County Public Health Department in Aurora, Colorado. This is the first year that STAT will be applied in a county health department setting. Professionals with county health experience are encouraged to apply. The assessment this year will take place from April-July.
