Session I Evaluation Form
Objectives:
1. Describe the current methods for quantifying spinopelvic and acetabular alignment.
2. Identify the controversies surrounding the timing of complex lumbarsurgery in relation to hip arthroplasty.
3. Practice in multidisciplinary approaches to the care of patients who may have both hip and spinopelvic pathology.
4. Diagnose and indicate patients with Achilles ruptures for a percutaneous repair.
5. Describe different percutaneous techniques available for Achilles repair.
6. Detail steps required to technically carry out a percutaneous Achilles tendon repair.
7. Describe the pearls, pitfalls, and potential complications associated with percutaneous Achilles repair.
8. Identify the advantages disadvantages of the endoscopic repair technique for proximal hamstring repair.
9. Describe the pearls and pitfalls of the endoscopic repair technique for proximal hamstring repair.
10. Identify the advantages and disadvantages of the all-inside ACL reconstruction with suspensory fixation.
11. The role of new technologies and understanding their place and addressing and preventing some of the more common complications of hip and knee replacement surgery.
12. Demonstrate the potential benefits of delaying casting for a short safe time period for mother-child bonding and daily child care.
13. Identify the potential benefits of counseling parents on how to care for a child with a clubfoot cast.
14. Determine the importance of a patient's diabetes status when treating patients with pilon fractures
15. Identify the most frequent complications encountered in the first 30 days following surgical treatment of metastatic bone disease.
16. Compare outcomes after prophylactic stabilization of impending pathologic fractures to post-fracture stabilization.
17. Recognize the strengths and limitations of NSQIP in orthopaedic oncology research.
18. Determine when to evaluate patients for poor sleep quality after a diagnosis of osteoarthritis of the hip.
Target Audience: The target audience will be orthopaedic surgeons, residents, fellows, and physicians with an interest in orthopaedic treatment. Athletic trainers, coaches, and orthopaedic clinic administrators/technical staff may also be interested in the program.
