About the Process

Thank you for your interest in engaging in technical assistance with Education Commission of the States.

In 2015, the Education Commission of the States policy team supported four states in redesigning key aspects of their state financial aid program. These projects ranged from data and policy analysis to on-the-ground counsel to drafting recommendations. In 2016, we will engage a new cohort of states in targeted technical assistance projects. Completing this form is intended to begin the conversation about how we can serve your state.

We provide counsel through the lens of four principles for state financial aid redesign: student centered, goal driven and data informed, timely and flexible, and broadly inclusive. The four principles are described in detail in State Financial Aid Redesign: Principles to guide state aid policymaking. Additionally, our team maintains a 50-state data portal that outlines the program designs of the 100 largest programs across the states. Taken together, these resources enable Education Commission of the States both to analyze the field as it currently stands and to look forward to redesigns targeted at aligning state financial aid programs with state goals.

By completing this Interest Form, you will provide valuable information to Education Commission of the States on ways we can provide service to your state. This survey will ask questions about your state's topical interest, the type of technical assistance that is desired, the timeframe for the request, and your contact information.

The survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Sarah Pingel, Policy Analyst at spingel@ecs.org.
