1. FSSA Installer Members

The NFPA 75 technical committee has proposed to substantially weaken the long standing requirement for automatic fire suppression under raised floors of data centers.  At the June 16 NFPA Technical Meeting, FSSA will move to retain the requirement for automatic fire suppression under raised floors of computer rooms in its existing form in NFPA 75.  FSSA believes that fire under a raised floor in a data center potentially exposes fire fighters to an unreasonable level of risk – risk which has been largely eliminated by providing automatic fire suppression under the raised floor.

About 7 years ago FSSA conducted a survey of FSSA installer members regarding clean agent fire suppression.  The results of the survey have been extremely valuable in developing and maintaining proper guidelines for the use of clean agent systems.  We would like to update that survey to support our activity with NFPA as well as our overall leadership in promoting special hazards fire protection.
