A constant comment made to the Airport by many Cape and Island residents, second home owners and tourists is that flying to/from Hyannis (Barnstable Municipal Airport or HYA) would the preferred way for air travel versus going to Boston’s Logan International or Providence’s TF Green Airport for business or vacation travel. Reoccurring comments are, 1) options are seasonal and leave off-peak travel at a disadvantage; and 2) more daily flights to/from Hyannis would allow for better connections to the larger national/international air system.
With these concerns in mind, the Airport wanted to collect passenger feedback regarding air travel service. The goal of the air survey is to determine the air transportation needs for our Cape and Islands Communities and to relay these needs to airlines with the intent of added additional passenger service.
The Airport serves as a distinct commercial transportation hub by meeting the regional demand for air transportation, providing travel opportunities from Hyannis to Boston and the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket; seasonal jet service between New York and Hyannis; and to other major destinations across the country. Cape Air/Nantucket Airways, Rectrix Shuttle, and JetBlue (seasonally) are our airline partners.
