Welcome to the Community Survey for Shawanaga First Nation's Land Use & Environmental Plans

Shawanaga First Nation (“Shawanaga”) is currently developing a Land Use Plan and Environmental Management Plan for their surveyed reserve lands. These plans are intended to support requirements of the Shawanaga Land Code (2017) under the First Nation Land Management Act (FNLMA) Framework Agreement. Information gathered from this survey will assist Shawanaga First Nation in developing plans that promote the sustainable use of our lands, waters and resources.

The purpose of the survey is to identify the community’s land interests and concerns, and to help us understand community members’ visions for the surveyed reserve lands of Shawanaga First Nation for future generations.

This survey is one action in our community consultation and engagement plan for the development of the Land Use and Environmental Management Plans. There will be plenty of other opportunities for community members to participate in this planning process.

To help direct these plans, Chief and Council are looking to all members to fill out this survey.

Please complete the survey by September 30, 2018 for a chance to win one of five $100 VISA gift cards in a draw! The survey should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

If you have any questions please contact Maryanne Geroux, Planning Coordinator at: 705-366-2526 ext. 262 or planningcoordinator@shawanagafirstnation.ca.
