About the draft Peripheral Venous Access Clinical Care Standard

The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care is seeking comment on the draft Peripheral Venous Access (PVA) Clinical Care Standard.

The draft clinical care standard includes:
  • Ten quality statements that describe the care that should be offered to patients
  • A set of indicators for some of the quality statements to support local monitoring of quality improvement activities.
The quality statements focus on priority areas of care and are based on current clinical guidelines and evidence.  Fact sheets for clinicians and consumers have been developed to support implementation.

There are three documents available for comment. Please read these documents before completing the survey:
Instructions for completing the survey
  • The survey will be open from Monday 12 August 2019 and will close at 11:59 pm Sunday 15 September 2019
  • The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete
  • Click 'Done' at the end of the survey to ensure your response is submitted
  • Once submitted, the survey cannot be accessed again.

Consultation report
A consultation report summarising the findings of this survey may potentially be published on the Commission’s website.  The details of responding organisations and responses verbatim would be published in this report; however, no individual personal information will be reported.
