Views on early hormonal treatment for CHH
1.
Do you think that diagnosis of CHH in early childhood or infancy is important?
Yes
No
Not sure
2.
Would you have taken up the offer of minipuberty treatment for yourself if you had the option, or if you would want this available for your child if they were affected by CHH?
Yes
No
Not sure
I don't have children, but I would consider this if I did
3.
Do you think research exploring the use of pulsed GnRH via a pump (pump worn for duration of treatment, changed every 3 days) for minipuberty treatment is worthwhile or would prefer the current approach of injections with gonadotrophins (LH, FSH or similar) via injection, given two to three times per week? Treatment duration would last approximately 3 to 6 months.
FSH + LH given via injection or pump device preferred
Pulsed GnRH given via pump device preferred
Treatment is worthwhile - no preference for either option
Neither - I would not want treatment during minipuberty
Not sure
4.
Do you have any ethical concerns about giving hormonal treatment to children before they are old enough to consent, especially when it may influence reproductive development (including penis and testicular size, testicular descent)?
Yes
No
Not sure
