Talent Marketing Self-Assessment

This self-assessment is the first step in gaining a competitive talent advantage.

For each of these twenty statements, rank your organization on a scale of 1 star to 5 stars, where 1 is weak and 5 is strong. 
1.We have a set of core values that are compelling and well-written. They are just right for us.
2.We have engaging displays in our offices that reinforce our unique cultural aspects, history, vision, etc.
3.If speaking to a potential new recruit, our employees are able to share consistent and engaging messages about why our company is a good place to work.
4.We have an outstanding careers section on our website that helps persuade prospective employees to want to work with us.
5.We frequently execute activities like wellness contests, business games and learning events.
6.Visitors quickly get a feel for our culture right when they walk in the front door.
7.New employees are educated about our culture and core values during their first month with our company.
8.We communicate with new employees prior to their first day with an inspiring welcome kit.
9.We have excellent and consistent internal communications (newsletter, videos, technology tools, etc.) that keep employees well-informed.
10.We have a strong "purpose" statement that is in writing, and  reflects the reason we exist.
11.We have high-quality videos that showcase our culture and/or share stories about our employees.
12.We have excellent booth materials and/or collateral to help us stand out at career fairs or other recruiting events.
13.Our purpose, vision and core values have been communicated effectively and are well-known by everyone in the company.
14.Information employees need is well organized and easy to find (Intranet, shared drive, etc.)
15.Our work environment is strategically decorated to support the culture we want (i.e. wall art, signage, digital screens).
16.Employees regularly share examples of outstanding performance by their peers through a recognition program we have in place.
17.We capture our company and employee volunteering activities (photos, hours volunteered, outcomes) and showcase our community initiatives and the organizations we support.
18.Our job postings are written to not only describe the job, but also “sell it” effectively.
19.We have a comprehensive digital marketing campaign in place to reach prospective new employees and create awareness around our company, our culture and our opportunities.
20.We have well-attended and enjoyable company events and social outings that build team spirit and facilitate bonding.
