GP Practice Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship
The GP Practice Business Administrator Apprenticeship is a government-funded programme designed to upskill staff in primary care settings to take on key administrative and patient-facing roles.
Over a 15 month period, individuals learn:
Effective Stakeholder Management
Work professionally with patients, colleagues, suppliers, and external partners
Primary Care Legislation and Policies
Understand the key policies that protect patients and support safe service delivery

Project Management
Support or lead service improvement projects within your practice

Use tools and techniques to prioritise tasks and manage your workload

Work confidently with EMIS, Accurx, and other practice systems

The apprenticeship is ideal for non-clinical staff (Receptionists, Patient Services Officers, Admin Assistants, Reception Managers etc) looking to build skills in practice operations and NHS administration.
Learners allocate 6 hours of their working week to the apprenticeship, which is split between lectures and workshops, self -paced learning and the practical application of skills.
Upon completion of the programme, learners receive a Government accredited apprenticeship qualification at Level 3.
The apprenticeship supports the NHS 10 Year Plan by increasing administrative and digital capabilities essential for the efficient running of primary care operations.
