Suicide Prevention in Older People Survey

This survey is intended for people and organisations who work with, support, or regularly interact with older people in our community
Every death as the result of suicide is a tragedy. Unfortunately, our older population is often unintentionally overlooked, with much suicide prevention resourcing and strategies targeted toward younger populations. Older people also experience significant vulnerability through loneliness, grief, declining health, loss of independence, financial pressures, and social disconnection.

This survey aims to help us better understand:
• how confident people feel in recognising and responding to distress,
• what support or training may be needed,
• and what people in our community are observing about the wellbeing of older people locally.

The purpose is to build a fuller local picture so future responses, supports, and prevention initiatives are grounded in local experiences and insight.
