1. Discuss the challenges in postoperative management of patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and how these impact patient safety and resource utilization.
2. Summarize the key recommendations from the SASM-SAMBA-SOCCA Tri-Society guidelines on PACU events, risk identification, treatment, and postoperative disposition for patients with OSA.
3. Appraise the role of enhanced monitoring strategies in improving outcomes for OSA patients in the postoperative period and discuss the implications for ambulatory and in-hospital care settings.
