Survey: Proposed Federal Ban on Non-Competes

The Federal Trade Commission is proposing a rule to ban non-compete agreements for all employees and independent contractors, with almost no exceptions. The proposed rule would also require employers to rescind existing non-competes and actively inform workers that they are no longer in effect.

To help us better understand how non-competes are being used by Michigan businesses, and the potential ramifications and impacts of this federal policy change, we need your feedback. Please take this short survey.

Information gathered will be used by the MI Chamber to inform how we approach the non-compete policy debate and shared with the U.S. Chamber. **Please note that individual responses will remain fully confidential - only general, non-identifable, aggregate information be used.**
