Survey for Professionals: Supporting Individuals with BPD/EUPD in Edinburgh

This survey is for mental health professionals in Edinburgh who provide support services to individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) or Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD).

Who are we?

We are Much More Than A Label. We are a Lothian wide collective advocacy group for and by people who may attract the diagnosis of a personality disorder. In advocacy groups like ours, people with shared identities, experiences and challenges come together to have a stronger voice and take action. Our group is facilitated by CAPS Independent Advocacy, a charity which provides both collective and individual advocacy for people impacted by mental health difficulties in areas across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Why are we doing this survey?
Our group members think there are important changes that could be made in Edinburgh to help make services for people with BPD or EUPD better. We would like to hear the views of professionals who are directly providing support to people with BPD/EUPD about their experiences in their roles.

How are we using the information collected?
We will summarise it in a report to share with service providers. Your responses will help us understand what is available in Edinburgh, and what is lacking, for both people who use support services and for the people providing them. We hope this will influence provision of services and urge decision-makers to take people's needs into account.

Taking part:
The survey is for those who work or have worked in roles in Edinburgh that provide mental health support for people with BPD/EUPD. This can include people who work in generalised mental health services, but who come into professional contact with people who may have BPD/EUPD. Taking part is voluntary. You can answer as much or as little as you wish, and you can leave the page if you do not want to continue. Deciding not to take part or withdrawing from the survey will not affect you in any way. Your responses are completely anonymous. By filling in the survey, you indicate you have read and understood the above.

If you would like to share your experiences in another way, or have any questions, please reach out to the group facilitator Alex, at alex@capsadvocacy.org
