General Information

The Global Timber Tracking Network (GTTN) promotes the operationalisation of wood identification technologies, through cooperation with the forest sector, tech developers, scientists and enforcement authorities. Wood identification technologies have been developed to independently verify the species and geographic origin of timber to support due diligence by forest sector operators and also to support effective enforcement by authorities. These technologies can include e.g. wood anatomy and machine vision, genetics, stable isotopes, mass spectrometry and near infrared spectroscopy.

We are contacting you with this survey to assess stakeholders' views on wood identification technologies and their current and potential market demand.

We would much appreciate your contribution, which would take no more than 15 minutes. Could you please respond latest by the 30th of September, 2019? Feel free to share the link to the survey also with your colleagues or other persons, who could take interest in providing their input for the survey. Individual survey responses will be kept confidential and no single person can be identified from the results.

If you have any questions regarding the survey or the GTTN project, please do not hesitate to contact: yitagesu.tekle (at) efi.int ; jo.vanbrusselen (at) efi.int .

We thank you very much in advance for your support!

Best regards
