About This Survey

Spark Renewables is investigating a Community Investment Offering that would allow community members to invest in the Dinawan Energy Hub or a community-owned project within/adjacent to the Dinawan Energy Hub. The Dinawan Energy Hub is a renewable energy project currently being developed by Spark Renewables in the Riverina, currently comprised of solar and wind generation, and battery energy storage. https://dinawanenergyhub.com/

Spark Renewables is considering several ways for the local host community to benefit from the Dinawan Energy Hub. Through this survey, we would like to hear whether you would be interested in these types of investment opportunities.
What is a Community Investment Offering?

The Community Investment Offering being considered by Spark Renewables would allow community members to share in the benefits of renewable energy projects and actively participate in Australia’s transition to clean, emissions free electricity generation by contributing their own funds as investors in a renewable energy project. By contributing funds to the project, investors would acquire rights to a portion of the earnings of the project.
Has this been done before?

While it is not common practice for renewable energy developers to extend Community Investment Offerings to their host communities, Spark Renewables wants to give the community surrounding the Dinawan Energy Hub the opportunity to participate financially in the project, with its predicted associated long-lasting benefits. In considering the model to adopt, Spark Renewables intends to draw on similar models of community investment that have already been successfully implemented, both in Australia and overseas. Sapphire Wind Farm in New England (NSW), the Goulburn Community Solar Farm in Goulburn (NSW), the Haystack Community Solar Garden in Grong Grong (NSW), and the Hepburn Energy project in Leonards Hill (VIC) are all examples of different renewable energy Community Investment Offerings.
