Position Information & Requirements

This is the application to be considered for Staff for rAVe's InfoComm 2018 Trade Show.
Questions can be directed to Sara Abrons, Executive Editor, at sara@ravepubs.com.

Application deadline: Friday, March 30, 2018 at 11:59 pm

Important notes:
  • This application is for a position as a team member with rAVe [Publications] at InfoComm 2018, a trade show within the pro audiovisual industry occurring June 6-8, 2018 in Las Vegas, NV.
  • Your role as a team member requires a commitment of 7 days: June 3-9, 2018 (Sunday-Saturday).
    • We understand that it may be difficult to commit to a full week as you may be pursuing summer/full-time positions. In our experience, we have found that it is best to inform potential employers that you will need to start work with them beginning June 11, 2018 (the Monday following June 9, 2018).
    • If you are comfortable contacting your employer to request a week off of work and find your chances are good, please apply.
    • rAVe [Publications] is happy to assist you in informing employers by writing a letter. Sara Abrons or Gary Kayye are also willing to speak with employers/professors in regards to this.
    • If you find that you are unable to commit to the entire week (June 3-9, 2018) because you already have summer/full-time plans, please do not apply.
    • If you are selected, you must commit to the entire week (June 3-9, 2018) of InfoComm 2018 when you accept the offer.
  • You may have heard from peers/past team members about other trade shows that rAVe attends (such as Integrated Systems Europe in Amsterdam). At this time, we are only accepting applications for InfoComm 2018 in June.
  • All trip expenses, including travel, lodging, and meals/incidental expenses, are covered by rAVe [Publications].
    • rAVe is located in Chapel Hill, NC and therefore is based out of Raleigh-Durham International. If you are located outside of the Triangle Area and are hired, you will have the opportunity to fly out of another airport.
  • You will receive a payment, the extent of which will be determined on the basis of your length of travel and experience.
  • You must have taken or currently be enrolled in a course taught by Gary Kayye in the UNC School of Media & Journalism.
