Countdown to Kindergarten Programs provided by Newberry County First Steps

The Countdown to Kindergarten Programs are summer programs for rising 4K and 5K children attending public school in August. During the summer, participating children will have six visits with a 4K or 5K teacher from the school they will be attending. During the visits, you and your child will receive a bookbag of materials, work on school readiness skills, and learn what you can do to help prepare your child for a successful transition to school.

We cannot guarantee a spot or that all Elementary Schools will have participating teachers.

The child or family is enrolled in or eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

The Child or family is enrolled in or eligible for Women, Infants, and Children Nutrition Program (WIC)

The child is enrolled in or eligible for Medicaid.
