2026 Heroes & Harvest Pie Baking Contest Entry Form

REGISTRATION & EVENT SCHEDULE

• Entry forms are due by November 6, 2026.
• Contest entry fee is $10. All proceeds will benefit the William F. Green State Veterans Home.
  • Payment can be made via check, cash, or credit card at Bay Minette City Hall or on event day at the Raffle Table.
  • Contest entry is not confirmed until payment has been received.
• All pies must be delivered between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm on November 7, 2026.
  
  • Late arrivals will not be permitted.
• Tasting and judging will take place at 12:30 pm.
• Contestant name, category, and ingredients list must be submitted with each pie.

RULES

• All pies must be homemade from scratch.
  • No store‑bought crusts, canned fillings, or pre‑made mixes. Everything should be prepared and assembled by hand.
• Only one pie entry allowed per contestant.
• Pies must arrive fully baked and ready for judging; no on‑site baking allowed.
• No pies that require refrigeration.
• Crusts may be traditional, crumb, lattice, or creative styles
• Pies must be delivered in a disposable or clearly labeled container.
• Contestants must provide a clear and complete ingredient list so potential allergens can be identified. Pies are not required to be allergen‑free, and recipes are not needed.
• All pies must be checked in by the posted deadline to qualify.
• Contestants must follow standard food‑safety guidelines. Any pie or handling observed at check‑in that appears unsafe may result in disqualification. Examples include:
  
  • Pies or containers that appear contaminated, spoiled, or otherwise unsafe to eat.
  • Failure to wear food‑safe gloves when handling pies on site.
• The judges’ decisions are final.
• After judging, contestants may share the remainder of their pie with festival attendees at no cost, unless otherwise specified.
• Judging criteria: appearance, crust quality, filling flavor, creativity, and overall taste.
