The voting period will begin on Monday May 13, 2019 and close on Thursday, June 6, 2019.

Except in the case of ties, each category will have one Winner and one Reader Recommended (runner-up) awardees.  The maximum number of awards (Winner and/or Reader Recommended) is three per entity. Awardees will be notified by the staff of L.A. Downtown News only and the results will be published in the Best of Downtown Issue dated July 22, 2019. Awardees will also be invited to the exclusive Best of Downtown Winner’s Party.

Be aware that L.A. Downtown News WILL VERIFY each email ballot. All voters will receive an email confirmation; this email also provides a feedback loop in case the individual suspects their email was used without permission on a ballot. Businesses that use customer emails for voting purposes without permission will be discovered and will be ineligible for award consideration.

The Best of Downtown awardees are determined by the readers of L.A. Downtown News. The management and staff of L.A. Downtown News do not determine the winners and the results may not reflect the viewpoints of the staff of L.A. Downtown News.
