All volunteers must be registered.  To do so, please fill out this survey.  It includes your contact information and waiver release along with a volunteer checklist and COVID self-assessment. This year’s events are subject to Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit COVID guidelines.

Registration closes Thursday, November 18th at 4:30 pm.  You will be contacted in the event the tree plant has to be cancelled or rescheduled.

* 1. DATE AND LOCATION
The community plant is being held on Saturday, November 20, 2021. You are asked to be on site by 9:00 am. The event runs until noon. Note that a map of the tree planting location will be forwarded to you closer to the event.

o   There is a potential risk of injury for which the South Simcoe Streams Network (SSSN), Nottawasaga Futures, the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA), its partners and the landowner assume no liability;

o   COVID protocols are in place; however, organizers assume no liability for your personal wellness.

I consent to my photo/video being taken to promote SSSN, NVCA and partner events and programs with the understanding that no personal names will be tagged unless permission is received.

* 9. COMMUNITY FIELD EVENT VOLUNTEER CHECKLIST
Rain or shine, unless there is severe weather, we are set to do restoration activities near water. Standard time commitment is three hours. Given COVID 19, there are a few changes in how we work and what you should bring.

On the day of the event, please self-assess using the self-assessment tool provided and if you are at all feeling UNWELL, STAY AT HOME!

Once you have self-assessed and are able to join us, please come to the site 10 minutes before the start time if possible.  A person will come to your vehicle, check off your name from a master registration list, and guide you to an allotted parking location.  Please remember to wear a mask and keep your 2m distance from others.  You will be assigned to a group lead who will guide you to the planting location and provide a site orientation, safety protocols and planting demo.

Materials Supplied:

o   tools such as a shovel and rubber mallet will be supplied, but bringing your own is preferred. (Note, please remember to ID any tools you bring)

* 10. STUDENT COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS

In order to be credited with community service hours, you need to email your school volunteer sheet to silvia@nottawasaga.com after the event.  Include your full name, date, activity (tree planting) and number of hours you assisted.

Once received, your sheet will be signed and returned to you.
