The Local Hero Award has been created to recognise the everyday impact of workers who go above and beyond for their customers, colleagues and communities. These individuals are often the first friendly face people encounter and the steady presence that keeps businesses, neighbourhoods and community spaces running - especially during busy, stressful or uncertain times. The award celebrates those whose kindness, dedication and professionalism turn ordinary moments into meaningful human connections. It highlights the truth that heroism isn’t always loud or dramatic, more often, it appears in patience, reliability and genuine care for others. The nomination should be for something that truly stands out.

One winner will be selected from each of the four sectors — retail, hospitality (day‑time), hospitality (night‑time), and offices/professional services — provided there are sufficient nominations. Nominations remain open throughout the year, with winners chosen from each of the four sectors three times annually in April, August, and December and announced publicly across media platforms.
