Basic Information

To better understand the diversity of the Connected Minds membership and create a more inclusive funding program, we are asking individuals to provide self-identification data. The information shared will be used to create a templated report that will report disaggregated proportions of the four federal designated groups (women, Indigenous people of Canada, Persons with disabilities, members of racialized groups), 2SLGBTQIA+, and French linguistic minority status. In the situation where less than 10 people self-identify, specific percentages will not be provided. These practices have been enacted to maintain the anonymity and confidentiality of respondents while allowing Connected Minds to receive the data they need to build a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.

Even if you are choosing not to self-identify, have chosen not to self-identify in the past, or you do not identify as belonging to any of the following groups we invite you to complete the self-identification form.

Please note that the self-identification information can only be accessed by the Connected Minds Program Director (Caitlin Mullin), Operations Manager (Tara Tharani), and EDI and Community Outreach Specialist (Andrew Castillo). Self-identification information will be kept on a secure server only accessed by the Connected Minds staff members mentioned above. Information will remain in the server until 2037 as mandated by the Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF).

If you have any questions, please feel free to email Andrew Castillo (drewcast@yorku.ca), EDI and Community Outreach Specialist for Connected Minds.
