Preliminary planning for school in the fall

One aspect of our plan for a restart of school on campus next fall is centered on the assumption that there may be a need to reduce the number of students who are in each class group and/or to prevent any co-mingling of class groups, meaning no shared work, lunch or recess times and strictly limiting any cross-group interactions by adults. We will of course follow state and local guidelines.

Your responses to this survey will help us design programs for each level that recognize the importance of being back on campus, while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students, staff and families. Please understand that none of the options mentioned should be construed as promises to make that option available.

Question Title

* 7. If your child is in the Early Childhood program please respond to the following:
Option A:
The school day is divided into two parts: half the students would come in the morning, half in the afternoon. Classrooms would be open from 7 a.m.-noon for the morning session, and 1-6 p.m. for the afternoon session. Lead teachers would teach in each session for 3 hours, 9 a.m.-noon, and 1-4 p.m. Children will be expected to eat lunch at home.

Option B:
The Early Childhood classrooms are divided into two work areas with half the students in each area. Class time is 8:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. The lead teacher would spend time with each work group over the course of the day. Before and after care would be extremely limited.

Option C:
The Early Childhood classrooms would operate regularly for school day only, from 8:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., with no before/after school care. This option would keep each class of children and teachers contained to one indoor/outdoor space, following all currently recommended health and safety guidelines.
