Background on Disability Rights NC's Proposed 2020 Targets

Disability Rights North Carolina is the state's protection and advocacy system for people with disabilities.

We work to stop discrimination based on disability and violations of the rights of people with disabilities. However, we do not have the resources necessary to tackle all of the issues facing people with disabilities at one time. That is why we create Targets, which provide the structure for how we spend our limited resources.

On June 21, 2019, the board of directors of Disability Rights NC tentatively approved our 2020 Targets. These Targets are now available for public comment through August 16, 2019. The Board will carefully consider all public input before finalizing the 2019 Targets at its September meeting. Our 2020 fiscal year begins on October 1, 2019.

We ask you to complete this survey on our Targets because your input will help us make better decisions about our work. For greater detail, see 2020 Targets for Public Comment, which includes the rationale for each Target and the populations impacted.
