Manchester Clinical Commissioning Groups are working with partners including the voluntary and community sector and services users to improve the experiences of people using mental health crisis and urgent care services in Manchester.

We have been meeting with service users and listening to their experiences of using crisis and urgent care services in Manchester.Their experiences have told us that the following areas need to improve:
  • Access to crisis and urgent care services - use of the crisis helpline, waiting lists, what are the alternatives to going to A&E
  • Exit, transfer or discharge processes - when discharged what support is there for service users, information sharing with GPs
  • Training and Education - staff treating service users in a non-judgemental way, non-clinical staff receiving mental health awareness training
  • Communication with service users - clear, informative and respectable
  • Information for services users and carers - what services are available, where to find them and how to use them
  • Management of mental health conditions to avoid crisis situation - having a CPN, what happens when they are not available, having a plan in place
As well as continuing to meet service users face to face, we are also asking for feedback on-line using the survey below.

Please take the time to complete the survey and share your experiences of using mental health crisis and urgent care services in Manchester.
