Thank you for your interest in this survey on Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). GERD is a digestive disorder where stomach acid flows back through the esophagus. A common symptom is one of burning. LPR is acid reflux that affects the larynx and pharynx. The survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes. The results will be discussed and presented in an article, as part of my dissertation project for the DMA in Voice Pedagogy at Shenandoah University. To ensure that your participation will remain anonymous, no personal information will be collected. Your identity will be kept completely confidential and the data and their results will be anonymized and stored in a password protected file. If you decide to not complete the survey, the data will be destroyed. Participation in this study could lead to greater understanding of the effects of LPR and GERD on the singing community.
