As libraries continue to evolve (often into community centers), many of them are adding maker spaces.  The objective of a maker space can be to develop a creative area for patrons who wish to learn new skills, exchange ideas, collaborate, and create items such as robotic devices, prototypes, and even quilts. This is perhaps the fastest growing trend in public libraries and communities today.  In keeping with this movement, libraries are evolving from places that not only house materials, but also into places where people can work, experiment, and have access to appropriate resources and tools. Maker spaces will expand the ways in which libraries support and provide lifelong learning within their communities.
