Four Schools Descriptions

School A: Excellence Academy

Educators at Excellence Academy believe that some kids are gifted and more talented than others.  It is our responsibility to push the kids hard and it is the students responsibility to do whatever is necessary to achieve.  They provide great teaching to all kids, but some kids will just do better than others.  The educators know that some kids just will not do as well due to a learning challenge or poor parental support.  They treat everyone well, but it isn’t fair to expect similar high levels of learning from the kids that are more challenged.  Excellence Academy finds a place for all kids by creating special classes including honors, AP, and general courses to make sure kids can find success.  They work hard to ensure the top of the class is challenged and excels as they are the leaders of tomorrow.

School B: The Opportunity School

Educators at the School of Great Opportunity believe that all kids can learn if they give high levels of effort and take responsibility for learning.  The educators pride themselves on building strong lessons and fulfilling their responsibilities as a teacher.  They deliver the curriculum, the students need to do their job of learning.  The educators are fair in their grading and students get what they deserve.  They are available for support as needed, but the students need to ask for help and take initiative.  At the School of Great Opportunity students are provided with many opportunities to learn and they need to make the most of it.

School C: Thrive Academy

Educators at Thrive Academy believe that relationships matter and for students to learn they must feel good about themselves.  They believe that students shouldn’t be pushed too hard because all kids learn at their own pace and in their own way.  They nurture the kids to continually engage them and make every child feel special.  They know that all kids can learn and will when they are ready.  The school wants every student to thrive so they spend a significant amount of time on connection, character education, and ensuring that every child has a place.  They ensure everyone gets recognition and believe in supporting the whole child.  At Thrive Academy the most important thing is that kids feel good and love coming to school.

School D: The Aspire School

Educators at the Aspire School believe that all students need to be educated as they are the citizens of tomorrow.  The school has established a minimum level of achievement that all kids must meet. They believe that it is their responsibility to make sure that all students meet the minimum expectations of learning.  Educators offer “tough love” to ensure that students learn even when they do not want to learn.  At the Aspire School, educators believe in kids more than they believe in themselves.  This results in high levels of student support mixed with student responsibility.  Educators use data, tailor experiences to meet kids at need.  At the Aspire School students are inspired by the relentless belief modeled by their teachers that all kids will learn.
