What is Georgia Food Oasis?
Georgia Food Oasis is a designation that recognizes local food coalitions across the state who are working to improve access to healthy local food. We collaborate with local food coalitions to strengthen and support their development through public engagement, partnership development, planning, and policy.

Share a Meal, Fund an Idea. Modeled on the Detroit Soup Program, Potluck & Pitch provides a platform and seed funding for Georgia Food Oasis communities to share home grown ideas to improve local food access and food systems.

Why are we pitching our ideas?
● To help early education and school garden champions gain traction and support from the community.
● To provide garden projects with small grant funding to get started, improve, or expand education and community gardens in Columbus, GA.
● To establish a culture of community support for gardens via exposure and financial backing.
Who are we pitching to?
● Community members.
How do we pitch?
Each presenter has five minutes to share their garden project and answer three questions from the audience. Keep in mind, a pitch is a short persuasive speech that sparks interest in your project--it should answer why a project should be put into action.
We only have 3 rules:
1. You must be a resident of the Columbus-region.
2. Projects benefit the Columbus community.
3. Presenters have limited use of technology to present

their idea. (No videos or audio files BUT up to 5
powerpoint slides are allowed.)
What happens next?
● Submit the following project proposal by Nov. 21.
● If you're selected to pitch, you'll be notified on Nov. 25 with instructions and support to get you crafting the best pitch.

● If awarded funding the recipient will need to complete a grant agreement form with Georgia Organics and provide a W9 form.
