Attendance Based Funding Stories

The AEU NT is collecting stories to use in its submission to the Australian Federal Government as we call on them to inject emergency funding into our education system to help rectify the mess that is "Effective Enrolment".

You can choose which questions to answer/which stories to provide, but we ask that you share the name of your Sub-Branch as well as either your name or the name of your rep, so that we can verify the details and seek further clarification/photos etc to go with our submission.

For further context:

The NT Government introduced the "Effective Enrolment" model of school funding in 2014/15, which bases on funding on attendance, rather than enrolment. It is highly inequitable and has led to system-wide failures. It is the position of the AEU NT that this model of funding needs to end and a stronger model be embraced. We refuse to refer to it as "Effective Enrolment" as it is neither effective nor based on enrolment. Instead, we have termed it exactly what it is: Attendance Based Funding (ABF)!
