All Educators Rising Missouri competitors must:
  • Complete this entry form AND register to attend conference (through your teacher) by Monday, January 25, 2021 - be sure to click SUBMIT.  We will then send you an email on how to submit materials that must be submitted in advance. All written materials and recorded presentations required in advance must be received by Wed., February 10, 2021. You will meet virtually with judges on March 10 or 11, 2021. You will be notified of the exact date and time by Feb. 26, 2021. Watch for an immediate confirmation email and copy of your submission for your records. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please contact Laurie.Bernskoetter@mnea.org.
  • Register for the Educators Rising Missouri state conference (through your teacher) by Monday, January 25, 2021.
  • Be an Active Member of national Educators Rising (paid $10 national dues). If not, go to www.educatorsrising.org and join now.
  • Submit any materials required in advance by midnight, Wednesday, February 10, 2021. See details below.
  • Attend Educators Rising Missouri state conference virtually on March 10 or March 11, according to your competition schedule.
All competition entries must also be listed on the Chapter Competition Planner submitted by your teacher leader.
The top five state winners qualify to compete in the national competition but are not required to enter the national competition. All students who compete are entered into a prize drawing.

An individual may enter up to two (2) competitions, counting both individual and chapter events for which you are a presenter. Each chapter may submit up to two (2) entries for the same individual competition, and only one (1) entry for each chapter competition.

If more than two students in the same local chapter wish to enter the same individual competition, a local competition should be held to determine the top two (2) entries. In this case, the chapter advisor should complete this entry form twice using Local Winner 1 and Local Winner 2 in the name fields. This allows organizers to plan for two (2) from your chapter, and final names can be emailed to Laurie.Bernskoetter@mnea.org no later than midnight Feb. 2, 2021.

All Missouri competitions will follow the same directions and scoring rubrics as the national Educators Rising 2021 competitions. Log into your Educators Rising account, and look under Educators Rising High School Resources, then Student Resources to find competition guidelines with scoring guides. Be sure to read the 2021 Virtual Competition Norms as well.

All but three competitions require submission of materials in advance. See national Educators Rising competition guidelines and 2021 EdR competition info details for what is required to be submitted in advance. Check with your teacher leader for this information.

For competitions that require documents or video to be submitted in advance:

On or before the Friday after you submit an entry form, you will receive an email with a link to upload your required document or video. When uploading documents, compile them into a single PDF or document file.  All required documents must be uploaded by midnight February 10, 2021.

Use the following file naming convention for all materials submitted:

Lastname.FirstInitial.contest.document.2021
Example: Smith.M.exploringedadmin.interviewforms.2021
Example: Smith.M.lessonplanArts.lessonplan.2021
Example: Smith.M.lessonplanCTE.video.2021

If you have questions regarding the entry form or the process to submit materials, please contact Laurie Bernskoetter at Laurie.Bernskoetter@mnea.org or (573) 644-9623.
