The South Dakota state standards are reviewed on a cycle approved by the State Board of Education Standards as per SD codified law 13-3-48.  The core content standards are reviewed every seven years.  The current SD standards for mathematics were adopted in March of 2018.  This means it is time to begin the unpacking of standards and development of K-12 support resources for effective implementation.

The unpacking  and resource development process will take place during the summer of 2018.

The state is soliciting approximately 50 workgroup members comprised of K-12 educators, post-secondary educators, administrators or curriculum directors.  Applications will be taken through April 16, 2018 at 4:00 pm
