2020 Ethel Lund Village Health Occupation Program (VHOP)
Sitka, Alaska

Dear Principal, Superintendent, Counselor or Teacher,
The Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium Board, providers and staff are dedicated to increasing the number of Alaska Native and American Indian students who pursue health careers. It is with this in mind that SEARHC offers this opportunity to high school students attending school in Southeast Alaska.

One of the goals of the program is to expose Alaska Native students from the rural communities to as many different health careers as possible. Students will have the opportunity to spend time with those already in their chosen profession. They will also have the opportunity to learn about setting career goals. Students are selected on the basis of their interest in the health field. This experience gives them a chance to evaluate their own strengths and see which jobs best suit them.

As part of this application process, we are requesting that students obtain at least two (2) recommendations on their behalf.   We are seeking responsible and mature young adults that will greatly benefit from this opportunity.  Please be sure to list within your recommendation, some of the student's strengths and accomplishments.
