You are being asked to participate in a research study about Inner Voice and emotional content. This study is being led by Travis Miller, Psychology Department at Missouri Southern State University (MSSU). The Faculty Advisor for this study is Dr. Karen Kostan, Psychology Department at MSSU.
What the study is about
The purpose of this research is to get a better understanding of inner voice.
What we will ask you to do
Participants will be asked to fill out a questionnaire consisting of 30 questions dealing with thought patterns, emotions, and feelings about their current life. This study should take less than 15 minutes.
Risks and discomforts
There is a small chance that some questions could cause emotional discomfort for individuals participating, though we do not expect this to be the case. If you are concerned with these minor discomforts, you should not participate in this study, and everyone can withdraw any time.
Incentives for participation
Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) students’ name and contact information may need to be shared with the Instructors at MSSU (if applicable), so that way you can receive course credit or extra credit for participating in this research study. There are no direct incentive for others outside the university, though you will be helping increase psychological knowledge.
Privacy/Confidentiality/Data Security
We will do our best to keep your participation in this research study confidential. It is possible that other people may need to review the research records, but your name and personal information will not be part of the data.
Please note that the survey is being conducted with the help of Survey Monkey, a company not affiliated with MSSU and with its own privacy and security policies you can find at their website. We anticipate that your participation in this survey presents no greater risk than everyday use of the Internet.
Data and Consent for this research will be stored securely for 3 years.
Future use of Identifiable Data Collected in this Research
Your personal information will not be used or distributed for future research studies.
Taking part is voluntary
Please Note that taking part in this research study is 100% voluntary and you can end the survey at any time during the survey if you decide to. Students at MSSU will still be able to receive their participation points.
Since this is an online survey participants can take a screen shot or save a copy of this form if they choose to have a copy for their records.
