Citrus Australia is developing the National Citrus Industry Strategic Plan 2027–2032, which will set the industry's direction and priorities for the next five years.
The central question is: how do we ensure industry growth delivers better returns for growers?
This is not a finished strategy. Nothing has been decided. Our discussion paper sets out the evidence and key questions, and we want you to challenge it, add to it and tell us what's missing. Read the discussion paper.
Citrus Australia is leading the development of this strategy on behalf of the industry, and its success will depend on collective effort from industry partners such as Hort Innovation and Plant Health Australia, state and federal governments, and leaders across the supply chain, including freight, ports, shipping, wholesale markets and retailers. So please think broadly: tell us what needs to change, and who needs to help deliver that change.
This survey asks the same questions we are discussing at regional meetings and online webinars, so your views count equally whether you attend a meeting or not. It takes around 6–8 minutes. If you can spare a little longer, please give us as much detail and as many real examples as you can. The more we understand about what's happening on your farm and in your region, the more practical and grounded the strategy will be.
Your responses are confidential. We'll publish a summary of what we heard without naming individuals or businesses. If you'd like your views attributed to you or your business, you can let us know at the end of the survey.
The survey closes on Friday 11 December 2026.
