Workshop Proposal Instructions (PLEASE READ ALL)

NAMI California is seeking proposals for presentations for our upcoming conference in Sacramento, CA, August 24th & 25th, 2023 on Young Adults, Criminal Justice, Housing, Consumer and Family Engagement/Recovery Practices, and Engaging Diverse Communities.

We highly encourage workshop applications that incorporate and address diverse communities through dynamic strategies and programs including, Multimedia, Education/Training, Personal Stories, and Advocacy. Additionally, NAMI CA understands that our workshops provide important resources and education to the community.

Available workshop spaces are limited and will be reviewed by the Conference Program Committee. Workshop proposals must be submitted by 5:00p.m., March 31st, 2023 to be considered.

INFORMATION REQUIRED ON ALL SUBMISSIONS:
  1. Name of each presenter
  2. Corresponding email of each presenter
  3. Conference sub-theme to which the workshop relates (Example: Young Adults, Law Enforcement, Consumer/Family and Healthcare Providers)
  4. Title of workshop
  5. Abstract: (100 words or less)
  6. A 300-word summary of the workshop activities, including any materials that workshop participants will receive
  7. Brief biography of 100 words or less and CV of each presenter
  8. PowerPoints/handouts
  9. Letter of recommendation or prerecording of workshop 
  10. Signed agreement of terms (located on page 6)
Applications must contain all required information and be submitted by March 17th, 2023, in order to be accepted. Applications not meeting these requirements will not be reviewed.
 
Audio Visual Needs:
NAMI California provides a screen & projector in each workshop. Presenters must supply their own laptop and audio-visual equipment. You may purchase audio-visual rental equipment through the hotel, provided you give them prior notice of your requirements (you will be responsible for any and all charges related to rental equipment at the hotel).
